I put the RAM in slots 1 and 3 and when booting I get a warning saying "Memory modules were found on non-optimized memory slot".

UPDATE : Looks like putting both an AMD and an Intel branded module in the 3 & 4 slots works, I can even put only one module on the 3 or 4 slot, but anytime I put a module in the 1 or 2 slot, it refuses to work.

I want to ask about RAM with a DUAL Channel motherboard. I have noticed on YouTube, some owners who have a DUAL Channel motherboard, they have installed 4 instead of 2 RAM sticks. Why do some people put 4 sticks in their system and not 2? Does it play a role, for example, in bandwidth?
